“I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and appreciation of jewelry in a way that helps you experience lasting joy and the meaning it expresses in your life. I hope to see you soon.”  —   Mollie Boutell, Founder of Westshore Diamond Company.

Mollie discovered her passion for gemology when she began working as a sales professional for Zales Corporation in 1997.  She soon entered the Residence Program at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) headquarters in Carlsbad, California, where she earned her Graduate Gemologist diploma in 2001.  This program helped her gain a solid foundation in gemological analysis and knowledge of the jewelry industry.

GIA executives noticed Mollie's rare talent and offered her the prestigious position of grading diamonds for their Gem Trade Laboratory, where she composed the highly-valued GIA Certification. Mollie has distinguished herself in the industry by using the vital techniques and analytical skills that are taught exclusively at the GIA Diamond Grading Laboratory.

Mollie returned to Tampa, Florida, where she excelled in her craft while working for fine jewelry sellers such as Mavilo, Home Shopping Network, Tiffany & Company and Continental Jewelers. Blessed with an entrepreneurial spirit, Mollie founded IGS, an appraisal company, in 2005. IGS continues to ensure unbiased and expert jewelry appraisals with the help of the most advanced technology available.  Clients include individuals, top insurance companies, banks, and attorneys.

Mollie is a sought after expert witness and is called on to aid the police and the FBI when jewelry is involved.  Mollie shares her skills by mentoring and training other jewelers and conducting appraisal clinics.

Dedicated to staying current on all gemological advances, Mollie is a current member of the GIA Alumni and E Women's Network.  She keeps abreast of the jewelry industry by attending bi-annual seminars covering the latest in gem findings, colored stone, diamond treatments, style trends, and pricing.
